Local Girl Scouts have hit a jackpot at Station Casinos, but don’t get the wrong idea.
The girls weren’t gambling. Instead, they benefited from a big order of Girl Scout Cookies from the casino company.
Station provided more than $100,000 to the Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada to offer a truly sweet deal for members of its Boarding Pass customer loyalty program, who this month are being allowed to earn points for cookies.
The casino company did not reveal how many boxes of cookies it received for its six-figure payout, but the order was enough for Station to offer the promotion on two nights. The second will be Friday.
Station officials said the company obtained its supply of cookies through the regional Girl Scout council as opposed to an individual scout or troop, with the understanding that the funding provided by the company would be used throughout the organization.
